Clutch Pilot Bushing 1970-83 (240Z / 260Z / 280Z / 280ZX)

Nissan

The Pilot Bushing is an important piece when it comes to proper operation of your manual transmission Z. It both supports and aligns the Transmission Input Shaft while also allowing the engine crankshaft and trans input shaft to rotate at different speeds when the clutch is disengaged. A worn bushing may show no signs other than excess noise or vibration. A failed bushing can lead to several problems, such as the clutch seeming to not disengage, the trans popping out of gear, or even catastrophic trans failure.
